These have to be the best afo socks I have tried!
I’ve worn afos for most of my life and have tried various types of sock and these are by far the best. The thickness is spot on, thick enough to help stop red marks from straps etc, but not too thick that they affect the fit of your splints. The moisture wicking is brilliant, I’m an adaptive CrossFit athlete and get extremely sweaty in my braces but these socks really help that. The fit is great, enough to cover all parts needed so you don’t get plastic on skin, but not too much extra that it’s baggy or has too much bunched at the top of the brace like other brands I’ve tried. The compression is just enough to hold the sock in place without squeezing uncomfortably on sensitive toes.
Like many parents with children, socks and AFO’s can be a battle and a half, but honestly my daughter really loves these, she comments regularly how soft they are, comfy and most importantly how her foot is not sweaty in them compared to bamboo socks we’ve used for years. From a parents view point I really appreciate the section across the ankle for extra support where the Y strap goes across this part. I would recommend these to every parent and adult that requires a AFO/smo or foot brace of any kind, finally found socks that give the right support and comfort level we’ve been hunting for. My son said these are the comfiest socks he's ever worn with his AFO. We've tried so many different ones over the years but will definitely be continuing with these from now on. He normally marks really easily and get a very sweaty foot and leg, but there has been none of this at all. Will for sure be looking out for darker colours in these.
The BraceLiner is the most comfortable sock my daughter has ever worn. There was zero slippage or bunching and no redness from afo straps. The BraceLiner was noticeably better at handling sweaty feet, meaning there was no damp sock during physio. I definitely hope these come in different colours as we need black socks for school.
The socks were very comfortable and after a long day at school I noticed less sweat on my legs, they also fit very well on my leg and in the splints.
